1910-1920s – ARTS & CRAFTS 800 STERLING SILVER Bracelet w/5 Shell Cameos Picture(s) and Description:
This is really beautiful! It's an entirely hand-crafted flexible 800 STERLING SILVER filigree links bracelet, containing five shell cameos. The bracelet dates back to the period, 1910 to the early 1920s, and is very indicative of the later Arts and Crafts movement prevalent at that time. Each shell cameo is individually hand-carved and hand-set into a silver bezel and then mounted on a silver filigree frame. The two smaller cameos, one on each end, feature a lady in a very flowing dress, almost as though she's swirling it around. The larger three cameos in the center feature a young woman with hanging sausage curls, a dangling earring, and a flower on her right shoulder. The cameos are all slightly different, as they were all individually hand-carved. The bracelet measures about 7½" long. The two smaller cameos on either end each measure ?" by ?" and the larger three cameos in the middle each measure ?" by ¾". And, all five cameos are superbly carved (see photos below). Eyes, noses, and mouths REALLY LOOK LIKE eyes, noses, and mouths. Someone obviously took a long time to fashion this. The bracelet is signed 800 on the underside of the clasp (see second-from-last photo below). Overall condition is excellent - absolutely nothing wrong with this! It is EXACTLY AS FOUND. I did not attempt to polish off the patina layers - or even to clean it, for fear of ruining something or another. The pictures below say it all... About Shipping ...
