Vintage ARTS & CRAFTS BRASS Bar PUB PLAQUE Sign Mission OAK FRAME Circa 1902 Wharff Eaton HUMOROUS Germanic TOAST MOTTO DESCRIPTION ~ a nice Arts & Crafts era wall plaque by Wharff-Eaton Company of Chicago dated circa 1902. The company made a series of these Brass signs mounted on Dark Mission Oak Frames. This particular one depicts a man on a bar stool, shot gun resting by his side with his cup raised to toast. The words and figure is highlighted with black enamel paint ~ a bit of black is missing. The saying reads, as a Germanic toast (not my spelling era :<) ~ "Here is your goot healdth und your familys goot healdth and may you all live long und brosper." MEASURES ~ FRAME 9 1/4" x 8 1/2" ~ PLAQUE 6 1/2" X 5 3/4" and is attached to the frame with 4 small brass screws, in each corner. SIGNED ~ LOWER RIGHT CORNER IS IMPRESSED "WHARFF-EATON CO INC, 1902" CONDITION ~ Good condition with original patina. There is a bit of the black paint accent missing in a few places as might be expected considering the plaque is an ANTIQUE 108 years old. (see photographs). It is ready to hang with wire and eyescrews attached. PLEASE ALWAYS FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS and/or REQUEST ADDITIONAL PHOTOGRAPHS. BID NOW........to button up this auction! SALUTATIONS from the SELLER ~ We were a MOTHER ~ DAUGHTER team ~ New Englanders ~ who by nature loved to collect. Mother, at age 92, left this good earth February 2008. She had started conglomerating 70 years ago. I inherited the gene! We joined forces in the early 1990's......doing antique shows and eventually opening our own shop. March of 2002 we started selling on eBay. Mother enjoyed eBay immensely. Watching the auctions go off with her treasures, often bringing far more than anticipated, was a great source of pleasure to her. Equally as much fun was bidding. She loved to play the piano and collect sheet music. To be able to sit in her living room, name a song title and find the vintage music on eBay delighted her. Waiting for it to arrive in the mail was something to look forward to. Ebay played an important role in her twilight years. At my auctions you’ll find VINTAGE ~ COLLECTIBLE ~ ANTIQUE items. As well, on occasion, I offer VINTAGE CLOTHING and ACCESSORIES from my closet ~ stay tuned ~ I list daily ~ slowly but surely. Good luck bidding!
